Sangre derramada, de Asa Larsson

El último libro que ha caido en mis manos es Sangre derramada, de Asa Larsson. Esta es la sinopsis de La Casa del Libro:


Es verano en Suecia, cuando brilla el sol de medianoche y el largo invierno ha sido olvidado. En este tiempo mágico, una sacerdotisa luterana, Mildred, es hallada muerta con signos de tortura en la ciudad de Kiruna. Mildred era una declarada feminista, una luchadora amada y odiada por igual. Está claro que no todos en Kiruna aceptan que una mujer sea sacerdote, pero tres meses después del brutal asesinato la policía sigue sin tener una pista. Rebecka Martinsson vuelve a Kiruna, el lugar donde creció, a realizar una gestión para el bufete de abogados de Estocolmo en el que trabaja. Sin embargo, pronto se ve envuelta en este misterioso caso: Anna-Maria Mella, la policía local de Kiruna, acude a Rebecka en busca de ayuda; sabe que sólo ella es capaz de desenmascarar la oscura verdad que esconden los habitantes de esta gélida ciudad.

Lo primero que hay que decir es que es imprescindible haber leído el anterior libro de la autora, Aurora Boreal, porque si no no te enteras de la mitad de la historia.
Por lo demás, un poco decepcionante. Me gustó mucho más el anterior, este es un poco más de lo mismo: frío, nieve, alcohol, violencia.. todos esos tópicos de la literatura escandinava. Además, hay una historia intermedia a la que no he conseguido cogerle la gracia.

Para la novela negra, prefiero a Camilla Läckberg.

El Círculo Oscuro, de Douglas Preston y Lincoln Child


Mi amigo invisible becero he conseguido el último libro de estos dos autores. Este es el resumen de la Casa del Libro:

Una diabólica presencia siembra el pánico en un lujoso trasatlántico: la nueva y endemoniada aventura del inspector Pendergast. Nuestro viejo conocido, Pendergast, y Constance, su protegida, investigan la desaparición de un misterioso objeto sagrado, portador de una gran maldad, en un remoto monasterio tibetano. Una pista los conduce hasta un lujoso trasatlántico de 3.000 pasajeros, donde comienzan a sucederse una serie de crímenes espeluznantes. Solo Constance, con el poder mental que ha adquirido en el monasterio, podrá enfrentarse a la oscura presencia...

Es un libro que sigue la linea habitual de estos escritores: intriga y asesinatos truculentos. No son recomendables si no te gustan los libros de asesinatos ni las series tipo CSI

En libros anteriores, consiguen que se te quiten las ganas de viajar en Metro, de visitar Manhattan, de conocer la selva, y ahora hacen que ni te plantees hacer un crucero. Es una aventura más de Pendergast, al que acabas por coger cariño a pesar de ser un tipo muy raro.

Cumbres borrascosas - Emily Brontë



Gracias a RBA conseguí una edición muy chula en tapa dura de este libro por un precio bastante asequible y con prólogo de Carmen Posadas, y me lancé a los clásicos.

Reseña de la casa del libro: La trágica historia de amor entre la apasionada Catherine y el atormentado Heathcliff es sin duda uno de los romances más inolvidables de la literatura de todos los tiempos. Como dijo Virginia Woolf, Emily Brontë era capaz de «liberar la vida de su dependencia de los hechos; con un par de pinceladas podía conseguir retratar el espíritu de una cara de modo que no precisara cuerpo; al hablar del páramo conseguía hacer que el viento soplara y el trueno rugiera».

Mi opinión es que narra una historia de amor, de otro siglo pero a la vez muy actual. No es un amor atormentado, es el amor de una mujer dependiente totalmente de un hombre que la rechaza. Es una relación amor-odio, un “ni contigo ni sin ti” que se repite en todas las relaciones románticas del libro
A mi me resultó a veces desesperante, no me sentí dentro del libro en ningún momento, porque me daban ganas de zarandear a la muchacha para que se diera cuenta de que estaba haciendo el tonto.

La atmósfera, muy conseguida. Nunca he estado en los páramos de Yorkshire, pero la autora hace que te los imagines perfectamente.

Lo que más me llamó la atención es la insistencia de la autora en indicar que Heathcliff era gitano. ¿Cuántos gitanos podría haber en aquella época en el Reino Unido?

Postales: Japón

De todas las postales que recibo, las más chulas suelen ser las de Japón.
